Two people killed in a plane crash on Florida Interstate: Sherrif’s office
At least two people died in a small plane crash that occurred on Interstate 75 in Naples, Florida, on Friday afternoon, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, which verified the information with Fox News Digital.
Five people were on board the Bombardier Challenger 600 business jet, according to a statement from the FAA. Regarding the other passengers’ conditions, nothing was known.
Around 1:00 PM, the aircraft took off from Ohio State University Airport, as reported by FOX 35.
“NB closed at Golden Gate Parkway exit 105. A plane landing on I-75 will cause SB to be closed for an extended period, the Florida Highway Patrol stated in a traffic alert shared on social media.
All southbound lanes were closed, and there was also disruption to northbound lanes, according to the sheriff’s office.
The department issued a traffic alert, advising people to “avoid the area and use caution.”
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
The crash will be looked into by the National Transportation Safety Board AND THE FAA.
The FAA released a statement saying, “The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide any updates.”
