Russia launches hypersonic ballistic missiles at the two biggest cities in Ukraine, resulting in approximately 100 injuries and 4 fatalities.

Russia launched its present conflict with Ukraine in February 2022, when it invaded the country.
Russia launched hypersonic ballistic missiles at Ukraine’s two major cities on Tuesday morning, killing at least four people and injuring almost 100, according to officials. The attack comes as Moscow’s battle approaches the two-year mark.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on the social media platform X that four citizens were murdered after hypersonic Kinzhal missiles capable of flying at 10 times the speed of sound attacked Kyiv and Kharkiv, the country’s capital and second-largest city.
“As of this writing, 92 people have been reported injured.” They are all receiving help. Four persons were tragically slain. “My heartfelt condolences go out to their families and friends,” Zelenskyy said.
According to Zelenskyy, the barrage included “almost 100 missiles of various types,” with at least 70 missiles shot down. “Everyone is receiving the necessary aid. I applaud the staff of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, police officers, physicians, and everyone else who assists people.”
Zelenskyy thanked the Patriot, IRIS-T, and NASAMS systems with bringing down the rockets and potentially saving hundreds of lives.
Russia’s Defense Ministry acknowledged the attack, claiming its forces fired targeted military industrial sites as well as depots in and around Kyiv housing missiles and weapons supplied by Ukraine’s Western partners.
“The goal of the strike has been achieved, all the targets have been hit,” the statement stated.
According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces have launched over 170 Shahed drones and “dozens of missiles of various types” at Ukrainian targets since Sunday.
The Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, an air-launched hypersonic ballistic missile that Russian forces rarely utilize due to its high cost and limited stock, was purportedly used in the strikes.
