Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah, fondly known as Lawyer John Kumah, departed, leaving a wife and six children. Hailing from Ejisu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, he was esteemed by his constituents as a man of integrity, dedicated to job creation and instilling hope for a brighter future in people of all ages.
A pioneering figure, he served as the founding Managing Director of Majak Associates Ltd, a construction firm with extensive projects across Ghana. After earning his law degree, he established Aduaprokye Chambers, where he held the role of Managing Partner until his appointment as CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in 2017.
During his tenure at NEIP, he orchestrated the training of 45,000 start-ups over three years under the Presidential Business Support Programme, aiding 10,000 beneficiaries and fostering youth employment nationwide. With a remarkable 17 years of continuous leadership, he showcased creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness in job creation, entrepreneurship promotion, and youth development.
In recognition of his efficiency, he was honored as the most Efficient, Prominent Government Appointee in 2018 and featured among President Akufo Addo’s top 20 Most Humble and Respectful Appointees in 2019.
A dedicated member of the NPP since 1992, Lawyer John Kumah contributed significantly, serving as the founding father of the Young Patriots—a youth political activist and pressure group within the NPP. Additionally, he played a vital role in the Communication Team of the NPP.
True to his commitment to his constituents in Ejisu, he successfully secured substantial funding, fulfilling promises and implementing impactful infrastructure and job creation projects in the constituency.
